No Solicitation Signs

Picture this, you've come home from your weekend trip and find two to five handbills on your front door or porch-advertising to anyone who drives by that you are not home.

No matter how many precautions we take before we travel-calling the credit card company, stopping the newspaper, having your mail held at the post office, boarding your dog, and asking a neighbor to look out for your lawn; there is that glaring sight of this residue left by a more than likely unpermitted handbill distributor on your front doorstep.

The City of Carrollton has had in place Ordinance 113.02(J) for many years which reads in part "It shall be unlawful for any person to solicit funds, distribute or cause to be distributed, deposited, placed, thrown, scattered, or cast any handbill at or upon any premise. If there is placed on such premises, in a conspicuous place upon or near the main entrance to the residence, a legible card bearing the words, no advertisements, no solicitation, no handbills, or any other similar notice indicating in any manner that the occupants of such premises do not desire to be molested or to have their right to privacy disturbed." Similar signs have been posted at Frisco residents homes for nearly 9 years. At first, the Handbill Distributors didn't pay much attention to it. However, when the Frisco Police Department's Community Services Division began making contact with the Handbill Sponsors distributing the items at the doors of persons posting the proper sign, the Distributors soon learned to pay strict attention to the signs or face a $500 fine per occurrence.

The No Solicitation signs offered by the CCPAAA meet the requirements of City of Carrollton Ordinance # 3128, Section 113.02(J). The signs are sturdy, mounted on a 36" u-channel aluminum stake with two rust proof screws. They are reflective and UV coated so they will not fade in the Texas sun and are a truly tasteful addition to your front landscape.

No Solicitation Signs for sale. Signs are available for a minimum donation of $10.00. CCPAAA is a tax exempt 501(c) 3 organization. The signs are available at the Information Desk of Carrollton Police Station on Mon - Thurs, 8am until 5pm and Friday till 11:30 am or ordered using our website.
